Macro environment indicators

The macro environment indicators determine the gross market space and net market space (without internal cannibalisation) and helps to explain whether there is enough potential in the larger catchment area to justify the opening of a new location.

The macro environment is one of the two building blocks to establish the predictedl performances of locations.


 
We can distinguish the following indicators;

  • The Willingness to travel to define the primary, secondary or tertiary catchment area
  • The total Market size in each catchment area 
  • The competitive pressure in each catchment area
